This building is expected to have a Fairmont Hotel occupying the first 40 floors. It remains to be seen if it will be linked to the existing
Fairmont Hotel across the street. The nearby Hyatt hotel spans several blocks this way, so it is a possibility that one large hotel will be
formed, instead of two separate hotels or the Fairmont simply moving across the street.
- The facade will be composed of undulating balconies which change slightly from floor to floor, forming a rippling, curtain-like surface.
- Balcony depths are calculated to optimize views beyond the building perimeter, and also to optimize sun shading within units according to
where it is most needed.
- The name 'Aqua' fits the nautical theme of buildings in Lakeshore East, and is derived from the wave-like forms of the balconies. The name
